Hedonic Regression Model for Quality Adjustment
To account for price changes with the quality being constant, the Bank of Japan employs the hedonic regression method. In the 2010 base index, the hedonic regression method is used for items "Computer rental" and "Communications & office equipment rental and machinery & equipment rental for service industries."
