Modification of Structure on Financial Derivatives

In accordance with the amendment of the section regarding Financial Derivatives in the IMF Balance of Payments Manual 5th Edition, Japan's Balance of Payments Statistics will be modified.

The outline of modification is as follows:

I Balance of Payments

1. Details of Modification
   
   
2. Date of Modification

   Modification will take effect from the press release of 'Balance of Payments for January 2002 (Provisional)'

3. Release of Retrospective Statistics

   From January 1996 to December 2001

II International Investment Position

1. Details of Modification
   
   
2. Date of Modification

   Modification will take effect from the 'International Investment Position at the end of 2001'
