Bank of Japan (BOJ) revises the list of
surveyed banks for the "Senior Loan Officer Opinion Survey on Bank Lending
Practices at Large Japanese Banks" as from April 2006 survey. BOJ makes it
rule to review the list of surveyed banks every three years.
In
this survey, BOJ invites the 50 largest Japanese commercial banks in terms of
loan amount outstanding, comprising domestically licensed banks and
shinkin banks.
(See Introduction of the
"Senior Loan Officer Opinion Survey on Bank Lending Practices at Large Japanese
Banks" ("Loan Survey") for the details of the survey.)
(Footnotes)
Domestically Licensed Banks conduct transactions with the Bank of Japan, and
exclude the Resolution and Collection Corporation, The Bridge Bank of Japan
(dissolved on March 8, 2004) and The Second Bridge Bank of
Japan.
The aggregated loan amount of the 50 reporting banks
accounts for approximately 74 percent of total amount outstanding of loans by
all Japanese commercial banks in the year 2004.
This revision is
the second time since the first revision in April 2003. The list of
surveyed banks will be reviewed in the survey of April 2009.
