Second Loan Disbursement under the "Temporary Lending Facility to Support Firms' Financing Activities"

On January 20, 1999, the Bank of Japan will make its second loan disbursement under the "Temporary Lending Facility to Support Firms' Financing Activities". The number of financial institutions which will receive loans and also loan amount in the second disbursement, as well as loan amount outstanding following the second disbursement, are as follows:

    Number of financial institutions : 55
    Total amount : 262.6 billion yen
  • of which
    City banks, long-term credit banks, and trust banks : 35.0 billion yen
    Regional banks and regional banks II : 97.0 billion yen
    Others : 130.6 billion yen
  • Amount outstanding following the second disbursement
    Number of financial institutions : 70
    Total amount outstanding : 1,035.6 billion yen
  • of which
    City banks, long-term credit banks, and trust banks : 714.7 billion yen
    Regional banks and regional banks II : 130.0 billion yen
    Others : 190.9 billion yen

  2. Definite loan limit : 4,085.9 billion yen for 102 institutions
  3. Increase in loans extended by all city banks, long-term credit banks, trust banks, regional banks, and regional banks II (average for December vs. end of September, adjusted for effects of the business transfer of Hokkaido Takushoku Bank) : 6,631.9 billion yen
