Revision of the Explanation of the Balance of Payments Related Statistics

The Bank today released the following revised explanatory materials on the explanation of the balance of payments (BOP) related statistics.

• Japan's Balance of Payments Related Statistics: Methodologies by Item [PDF 640KB]

The revisions were made to help users better understand Japan's BOP related statistics by enhancing explanations of how the statistics are compiled. The explanations include examples of various transactions, data sources, and estimation methods for the different items as well as the accounting principles used for compiling the statistics.
