[Dr. TATSUNO Kingo, the architect of the Main Building] |
The Main Building, the oldest part of the Old Building, was designed by Dr. Tatsuno Kingo (1854-1919), a well-known architect of the day who also designed the red-brick Tokyo Station.
He traveled the United States and European countries in 1888-1889 to study the architecture of central banks prior to starting his design work at the Bank.
