This is the banknote examination room.
The Bank counts the number of returned banknotes and checks each with high-performance machines to find out if there are any counterfeit or damaged banknotes. This "banknote examination" is conducted to gain public confidence in banknotes and ensure the smooth circulation of clean banknotes.
Banknotes that the Bank has deemed suitable for further circulation are returned to circulation through financial institutions. Worn-out banknotes are shredded into small pieces.
