Damaged banknotes, such as those torn or burnt, are exchanged at the small-value transaction counter. This picture shows how the remaining portion of a damaged banknote is measured.
Depending on how much of the original note remains, damaged banknotes can be exchanged, for example at full face value or half face value, as shown in the picture above.
