QuestionWhat does the Bank do to ensure compliance?

The Bank has a Compliance Committee, which ensures that the Bank's officers and employees perform their duties fairly and in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations.1 The members of this committee comprise members appointed from among the Deputy Governors and Executive Directors by the Governor, the Director-General of the Internal Auditors' Office, and one or more legal experts from outside the Bank.

In addition, the Bank seeks to ensure that its officers and employees carry out their duties in a fair manner by establishing a code of conduct and other ethical guidelines for the Bank's officers and employees, as stipulated by the Bank of Japan Act.
