Revisions to the Consumption Activity Index

In response to the following changes, figures of the Consumption Activity Index have been retroactively revised from their starting period.

1. Changes in response to the comprehensive revision of the GDP statistics

In response to the comprehensive revision of the GDP statistics in December 2016, the weight of each type of goods/services in the Consumption Activity Index has been revised, and "Automobile maintenance," which had been included in non-durable goods, has been reclassified as services.

2. Update of seasonal adjustments

The updating procedure of seasonal adjustments for the Consumption Activity Index takes place every year.
