Treatment of the Japan Post Bank, etc. in the Flow of Funds Accounts

The Japan Post Bank and the Japan Post Insurance have started their business operations in October 2007. Beginning the fourth quarter of 2007, the classification of the Flow of Funds Accounts is as follows (data to be released on March 21, 2008).
The data of the Japan Post Bank is included in "Financial institutions for small businesses" (in "Banks" in "Depository corporations" in "Financial institutions"), and the data of "Postal savings" sector (in "Depository corporations" in "Financial institutions") is not available from the fourth quarter of 2007. The data of "Private life insurance companies" sector (in "Life insurance" in "Insurance" in "Insurance and pension funds" in "Financial institutions") is not available from the fourth quarter of 2007. As a result, the data of Postal life insurance (differential between "Life insurance" and "Private life insurance companies") is not available either.
Japan Post Bank, Japan Post Insurance, Japan Post Service, Japan Post Network and Japan Post Holdings are all classified in public sector.
