Change in the Revision Schedule for Seasonally Adjusted Balance of Payments Data

The Bank of Japan publishes the seasonally adjusted data for major current account items in the Balance of Payments Statistics using the U.S. Census Bureau's X-12-ARIMA (Version 0.3). The Bank will change the frequency of revision of the data from twice to once a year. After this change, seasonally adjusted data will be revised every May based on figures annually revised in the preceding month. The revised data will be released together with the seasonal factors up through February of the following year.
The table below shows the 2024 release schedule for seasonally adjusted data and seasonal factors, in light of the aforementioned change.
