QuestionWhere can I learn about individuals' financial literacy and household finances?
The Financial Literacy Survey (Link to an external website) focuses on knowledge, attitude, and behavior regarding money and other financial areas among individuals aged 18 or older. The survey was conducted twice, in 2016 and 2019 (an English translation of the results is currently available for the former), by the Central Council for Financial Services Information (CCFSI) -- the organization of which the Bank serves as the secretariat.
Moreover, the Survey of Household Finances (available only in Japanese) is also conducted by the CCFSI. The survey covers topics of households' financial assets and liabilities, housing acquisition planning, and life planning. It is conducted once a year on single-person households and households consisting of two or more people.
